Niemond's Independent Church

The history of Niemonds Independent Church dates back to the late 1700's, but the earliest regularly recorded items come from August 15, 1811 when a building to honor God was erected along Lauver Valley Road. The church building was completed and dedicated on October 11, 1811 and was used until 1896.

In 1896 it was decided that due to growth, a new building was needed: the building which still stands. Throughout the years, various improvements have been made to that existing building.

The bell and belfry in 1908.
    Wiring for electricity in 1938.
    Stained glass windows in 1946.
Enlargement of Foyer and a basement dug out and bathrooms added in 1968.
Sunday school rooms finished and a kitchen completed in 1969.

In 2002, the church reached capacity once again and began the process of seeking new land with the possibility of erecting a new facility to God's glory.

In 2004 the congregation voted to erect a building along Rt. 35, south of Richfield to facilitate growth. Ground was broken for this new facility in October of 2005 and it was dedicated to God on June 4, 2006.

It is to God's glory that we are so enriched by the past and so excited for the future.

May those who come behind us, find us faithful.
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart lean not on your own understandings, in all of your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
